With 12 manufacturing plants in India and three overseas, SRF exports chemicals, packaging films and textiles to 75 countries across the globe. Give the span and scale of the organization, SRF relies heavily on mobility solutions and therefore deployed a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution with geofencing. Rajeev Prakash Verma, the man spearheading the cyber defence campaign at SRF shared that to tackle the security challenges stemming from employees' mobile devices, the company implemented a geofencing mobile device protection solution. Geofencing is basically a location-based service in which an app or a software uses GPS, RFID, Wi-Fi or cellular data to trigger a pre-programmed action when a mobile device or RFID tag enters or exits a virtual boundary. Now this boundary, set up around a geographical location, is known as a geofence. In addition to geofencing, the company implemented OT security and adopted best security practices like digitally-signed information and moving of information through a protected and secure channel.
